Today we started with an update on our delicious accounts. Professor Boyer gave us an average of how many bookmarks we should have and I was very excited to see I had exceeded this average number. I have come to be very involved with my delicious account and I use it all the time. It was very interesting to learn about the “network” tool on Delicious because I always want to look at other people’s Delicious accounts, but I can never remember how! Therefore, it was very helpful to know I can “save” people in my network so that they are only one click away.
Next, during the presentation of chapter 6, the presenters had us debate whether the gains or losses through technology were more important. They then had us discuss ways to maximize or mitigate these various gains or losses. I thought this was a really great activity because it made us truly reflect upon what we read and how we can incorporate these various topics into our classroom. They truly extended the information from this chapter rather than just summarizing it.
