Exit Slip, Week 7, 10-19-10

                One part of class that really impacted me today was the discussion of Chapter 5 because I was one of the facilitators of this discussion. It was extremely interesting being up in front of the classroom, especially in a classroom that was set up in this way. I have been up in front of a class before, but it was a very different experience being in a classroom where all of the students are sitting in front of a computer. This has impacted me as a future teacher because it has given me ideas on how to address the students if I am ever placed in a classroom similar to this one. It has taught me to ask for all students’ attention, walk around the room to make sure they are on task, etc. Another part of this presentation that really affected my future as an educator was the chart that was made after our presentation. It was really helpful to see some of the things that our classmates thought were positive & some of the things that our classmates thought we could work on or change. In the future, it will make me think of these things in the future when I am in front of my classroom. Some of the things that were discussed during this time were narrowing the focus of our discussion/blog posts. This can go for any subject that is taught within our schools because there is an enormous amount of information that can be taught. We will have to focus our lessons on specific information & we will have to pick & choose what exactly we will be talking about.
