I exerted a lot of effort into preparing for my podcast. I began my taking my time to find an article that would spark my interest and the interest of others listening to my podcast. I researched various articles and finally chose an article that discussed three dimensional technologies. After picking my article I made sure to read through and find the most important points to discuss in my podcast. I then created a script of what I wanted to say when I recorded my podcast. Before actually recording my podcast I researched various websites that would provide me with music and sound effects to include also. Once I had gathered all of the materials I needed I began to produce my podcast. I started by recording my script and I made sure pause every once in awhile so that I wouldn’t make any mistakes. After I was satisfied with my recording I added my music and sound effect. I made sure it was smooth and interesting for listeners to hear! I also had to go through the process of finding somewhere that would host my project. Since we were not able to directly upload our projects to our Blog, I decided to share my project on archive.org. I then linked it to my blog so that I could share it with my classmates.
Creating a podcast has given me a lot of ideas for projects that I can do with my future students. They can use podcasts to summarize articles or books we have read, report on a current issue in the world, or simply to let me know what has been going on in their lives. One project I have started to envision is a weekly podcast journal. My students can create podcasts informing me on the things that have happened in their life that week. They can then add music and sound effects representing the events that occurred. There are a lot more projects that can be done with this tool and that is one of the biggest things I took away from this project; there are endless possibilities in technology. Every tool that we have learned about so far has had a wide range of possibilities that have come along with it. These instructional strategies are all things that will impact my influence as a teacher and impact the learning experience that my students will face.
